Suppose you were a perfectly ordinary engineer working for a large computer company who figures out a way to make broomsticks fly. What would happen? That’s what these books are about.

Join Dave Casler as he finds a way to make broomsticks fly, makes one (ok, several until one works), and learns to fly without flipping upside down or falling off (and quickly finds he needs a safety harness). And then the secret becomes public! Dave gets tangled up in the media and with High Summit Motion Pictures, who are turning the very popular Three on a Broomstick series into blockbuster movies. Read more about Book 1: Genesis. Or read Excerpt 1. And Excerpt 2. And Order!

The second book in the series marks the beginning of a revolution in personal transportation as millions mount their flying broomsticks. At this point the FAA is apoplectic and the extreme religious right is out to hammer Dave on a charge of witchcraft. One wild situation after another. Read more about Book 2: The Missing Wand. Order!

The third book sees FOG, the organization that guards the Holy Grail, in a tizzy. Seems they’ve lost it! The Keeper, Reggie Baker, moved the Grail to its new secret repository and then died while walking his dog—before he could tell the other brethren where he’d put it! The loss causes a rift between powerful American brother Hal Bender and the English branch centered in London, and Dave is caught in the middle. Dave makes haste to London to organize FOG’s new young novices to find the Holy Grail—by using flying broomsticks, of course. But the media is full of rumors that FOG will take back the Power that enables broomsticks to fly. And the sinister Plasma Vortex organization is after Dave’s wand so they can use its power for extortion and general mayhem. FOG at the Crossroads records Dave’s high adventure in the American West and in Southern England. Come along for the wild ride! Read more about Book 3. Order!

Enjoy Dave Casler’s wry humor and his amazing sense of weaving in and out of reality seamlessly. See reader comments and treat yourself!

  1. David says:

Wait so is it a true story or just fiction becuase just for your information magic is real and etc.

  2. dave says:

It is fiction—its inclusion in the Fantasy portion of the website should be enough to indicate that. The word “magic” is loaded, because it means many things to many people. In the Flying Broomstick series the narrator overtly tries to avoid the “magic” term because of its negative connotations to some religions. Yet in my new book, tentatively entitled The Unexpected Traveler, I embrace the word unabashedly. From a literary point of view, it’s the author’s choice. You might check out the first section of The Unexpected Traveler at this post, which includes enough to show the magic I give the main character, Peter. His magic is the ability to heal wounds. I’ll admit I’m rather taken by that idea, and explored it rather thoroughly in the second Flying Broomstick novel (toward the end) and throughout the third Flying Broomstick novel.
